Is there an option to temporarily turn off the ABS. I know for example the Corvette has a switch on the dash to turn off the ABS if you should choose to do so.

Um Why? you can turn off traction control (AKA Fun killer button) but not ABS. There is never a need too. ABS is a magical thing!

When you are good at braking ABS is actually a handicap because it acts before the brakes lock so you can maximize the ability of your brakes and tires. Again you have to be really good for it to make a difference but there are valid reasons for disabling it. I don't know if there is a seperate ABS module in the engine bay of the G or not but I have a feeling it is impossible on newer cars.

Have you looked to see if there is a ABS fuse in the fuse box?
