Disable 99 Pathfinder security system?
Disable 99 Pathfinder security system?
Is there a way to disable the security system on my 99 pathfinder? I just want to unlock the door and start the car with the key.

Welcome to NICO. What issue are you having with the vehicle that makes you want to disable the security system?

I found unplugging the hood pin and closing the circuit with a wire is the only way to keep the alarm from arming.
Shorting the hood pin makes the alarm think a door is open so it won't arm.
I had to do this because my remotes stopped working and all the lock cylinders got messed up because the key would no longer turn off the alarm when used in the lock cylinders.

It's just a pain in the posterior to have to get the remote to turn off the security , then start the thing within a few seconds.
