So i went to the junk yard today looking for 1995 and up DIS4-04 coil ignitor. I looked and looked but could not find them. on the early q45 they are right on the coil pack cover on the left and right side. I can not find it on the new models. Guys i have searched and searched but it seems like there aren't any real pics of where it's located.

Thanks in advance gentlemen. Btw i did search our forum but all the threads have been about testing the wires and engine computer.

22020-50F00 this part number. It's not the on that has the aluminum casing. It's a small black cover igniter chip and is very similar to the ignitor chip on the sr20det.

I think we're talking about the "power transistor" mounted on top of the ornamental cover over the coils/plugs on the 94-95 Q. If it's still on the junkyard Q it should be very easy to see and remove. I'm not sure where it's at on the 96+ Q and the 90-93 is the aluminum clad part mounted in the same spot that you don't want. I've got 4 of those.

If you can see the coils/plugs on the engines that you're looking at then the ornamental cover and transistor are already gone. The same cars are probably missing the front rotors and calipers. The chip costs hundreds at the stealership so it's one of the first parts to go if there's any 300zx owners nearby.

Good luck with your search.

What year 300zx I saw plenty of the dis6-002 ignitors but I don't want to rewire my plugs for that power transistor

I agree. In 1995 they moved the ignitors to the back of the heads.

Looked at the junk yard the early vh45de came with the aluminum covered power transistors(coil ignitor) and so far just the 1994 came with those black covered power transistors(coil ignitor). The newer 95 and up moved to the rear and was a different type all together.
