Got a 2004 G35x recently. Loving the car, but for some reason the front rims get really dirty and the rear ones don't lol. This has been going on ever since I bought the car last month. I took it in for a full service check-up and was told my front brakes were a little low, so they changed them since they were also under warranty. The rims were fine for a week or so, but now again the front ones are MUCH dirtier than the rear. You can clearly notice the difference between the front and rear.

Can this be an issue with the brakes? Should I take it back to the dealership, or will they just tell me to clean the rims lol

Thanks for any input!

The OE pads dust a lot. Particularly the front since they do most of the braking. It is normal, so no worries. Just gotta make sure to wash them often.

Consider changing the pads to HAWK pads. They are better performance and alot more inexpensive than dealer brand. Check it out for yourself. If you need a step-by-step on how to change the pads let me know. It is VERY easy.

They are better performance ??

Highly unlikely in normal daily driving or in cold weather emergency stop [first panic stop of the day].After markets trade off these critical required functions to maybe perform better in extreme heat.

Typically the dustier a pad is the better it performs cold.

Performing better in extreme heat sounds like a critical function to me.

Another major factor is cost. And the factory is going to install the most effective braking system for the lowest cost possible. Most owners looking for improvements are willing to pay more to get more life out of the brakes as well as equal or better performance. If they drive aggressively they are well served getting brakes that fade less under stress.Performing well cold is also important, but since this typically involves lower speeds, driver judgment and reaction time is a bigger factor IMO.
