ok i did ur proccess tonight and it didnt go as planned. the residue from the nail polish was impossible to get off and the metal polish i was using was non-abrassive so that could have been the reason it wouldnt come off. after continuing with the steps the head lights looked pretty bad so i went in search of some very fine sand paper in my basement to try the wet sanding tecnique. I found some 600 grit paper and sanded the headlights down which got rid of the residue left from the nail polish remover but made the lense look really foggy when dried. I figured it was cause from very small scratches from the sand paper and i used McGuire's 3 step wax proccess which really restored the lenses and got rid of the foggyness. I noticed that the nail polish remover did take the yellow tint out of the lights but the stuff left behind was very hard to get off. overall i am pleased with the outcome and the headlights match the color of running light lenses beside the headlights a lot better, which is what i wanted. sources of error may have been that i didnt use the same brand metal polish u suggested and the metal polish i did use is about 20 yrs old and didnt look like polish when i first opened it. I did take pictures of the before and after if anyone wants to see them but it was dark out and the flash on the camera makes it hard to see the difference but they are clearer. thnx for the help again.
