I was wondering if a 2010 Rogue would be able to handle a Class III hitch with a dirt bike carrier hitch and 1 dirt bike on it. It would allow it so the dirt bikes is carried on the car like a mountain bike instead of actually having to tow something.

From what I could find it seemed like the tongue weight for Class III hitch is 350lbs so it should be more than enough for 1 dirt bike, which usually weight between 200-250 lbs, but also saw the Rogue tongue weight was only 100lbs, but that seems far too low.

Anyone have any experience or thoughts?

you could attach a class 5 hitch to the car - that doesnt mean the frame-rails will support the weight. you are risking bending the chassis out of shape. i wouldn't exceed 1500lb tow weight, which relates to 100-150lb tongue weight.

Ok, thanks for the response. It seems most cross-over/compact SUVs only have 150 tongue weight limit. Thanks you.
