Hi everyone,

So I have been looking into different charging options for my ca18det (which currently has some kind of dead skyline turbo). There are so many of them that I'm already confused - t25, t28, gt28 etc.
Can anyone please tell me which turbo will be a direct bolt-on? As I've written before I'm looking at 200-250hp at the wheels. So what should I go with?

Also if I get a used turbo what should I look at first and how hard will it be to rebuild it & what parts will need to be replaced (I've seen some rebuild kits @ ebay).

Any help appreciated :)

and it'll be direct fit? I won't need any oil/water feed lines?

all T25 turbos are a straight fit, but T28 turbos will need bended water lines because of bigger center part. it is not a big problem, but be careful - feed lines often cracks if are in bad condition. i suggest getting new armed oil and water feed hoses. they are like 100$. i have bought mine from UK.

also oil drain will a little bit different due to bigger T28 center part, but this is really a minor issue.

Thanks for the explanation, now I have a better picture of what I might be facing...

So a new turbo setup will cost me: 800$+100$ (new turbo + lines) + i/c (200$) + piping (100-200$) = 1300-1400$...ouch..
