I have a 1986 Nissan 720 King Cap 2.4 4X4 pickup with the manual transmission.
This should be the same drive train as the Datsun 720.

My owners manual says not to tow it as that will damage the transmission.

I would like to know what others have had down to their trucks to flat tow (all wheels down) this type of truck.

I went to customer service and they said I should take it to a Nissan service center, which sounds silly because the service center should be referring to Nissan.

Any help would be appreciated.

The reason you don't flat tow this truck is because you will burn the transfer case up. when the front wheels rotate, the transfer case does as well. Without the engine running to pump the fluid and cool it, you'll roast it. Only option is a dolly.
