So, I'm looking at acquiring a DIN gauge pod (and some gauges, duh!) over the winter.

The only one I really found was http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW

and http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW

Has anyone had any luck mounting these in the pocket below the radio? I'd prefer to keep the radio (as much as it sucks) but would like to mount some 52mm gauges down there, all nice and stealthy-like.

Is this going to fit or require a bit of chopping...errr precision modification?

i suggest you buy the triple gauge DIN panel that DEFI offers. SPL parts sells it.but it nowit's really nice.

I Have my boost, water temp, and oil pressure gauges down where the pocket used to be, i made my own pod. so yes, you can put them down there :-)

Is the pocket actually DIN sized? Just by eyeballing it, it seems smaller. Also, when the center console is removed, does the actual pocket part come out?

It just seems like 3 52mm gauges would be a really tight fit in that small space.

As much as I love the DEFI stuff (it looks awesome) I'll probably be going with more economical Autometer gauges. Looking at voltage, oil pressure and water temperature.

I don't know if you mind getting rid of your center vent... but here's how I mounted my Greddy gauges:

Just get a sturdy piece of aluminum from lowes and measure/cut the circles with a hole drill bit. Be sure to duct tape off the vent that should flow to that hole. I can't take credit for the piece though... it was my idea but my girlfriend made it... she's a keeper

I would like to keep my center vent, but that looks pretty damn cool.
