Ok when I bought my Z32, it had a power problem over a year ago.

I got a new high output alternator put in, a new battery, Optima, made for long cycles, and the most life I can get out of the car is a week of battery power sitting by itself. This had problems since as long as I can remember.

I mounted the battery in the rear for weight distribution and it runs fine, but there is no change in the longetivity since I had it in the front.

I also had the battery wires redone and checked because of corrosion. Half the reason I moved the battery to the rear is to avoid atmospheric corrosion.

I do have an alarm system, and its very basic. I have a ton of add ons I need to put on for security, but the sensors I am adding will draw more power. I have barely enough as it is. I'm already going to do a battery back up for my alarm system because this is getting dangerous to leave the Z without security where I live. That at most will buy only a few days.

Ideas of mine-Install a backup system to switch over to upon a dead battery-Solar Trickle Charger

I don't know what to check on the car, what would be on? Is my alarm enough to drain the car battery with a blinking LED and 3 sensors over a 1 and 1/2 week period? Or are there common Z power drainage points to check?

I'm gonna pull out the ammeter soon and begin pulling fuses, tip me off if you know something tho

Sick of it...

Ok replying to my own post is kinda dumb, but I have an update. Since no one posted, I was testing my system and the passive belt sensors tripped my trap of testing the draw on power.

This is what I did to test my fuses:

Connected a 12-volt bulb across the positive and negative battery terminals to test the bulb and the battery. It glowed well, then I removed the negative battery cable and connected the bulb inbetween the negative battery cable terminal clamp and the negative battery terminal. I tested it, it continued to glow brightly. I then started removing fuses one-at-a-time until the offending electrical component is identified by the bulb dimming.

What I got, was I came to a fuse, my alarm started goin off softly. I remembered that all my alarm fuses were pulled and put them back in, it stopped and the light was bright again.

I pulled the passive belt 7.5A, dimmed baddd, you could hear the motors go crazy in the doors and the bulb flickered.

Although I will test more tomorrow, the rest of the fuses I believe that this is very very possible the copret.

THE NOW PROBLEMWhat the heck do I do about the passive belt problem if it is the prob?Is it safe to leave out the fuse? or what?

For ppl that are scratching your head here is an explination of what the passive seat belt does:

A main control unit actuates the solenoid when the door switch detects that the door is open, and the main control unit includes an arrangement for continuously maintaining the solenoid operative for a predetermined time whenever the door switch detects that the door is closed after it has previously detected that the door is open.

Any Ideas??
