Looking for the cause of dimming interior lighting in my 2004 maxima. I cleaned the inside of the plastic liners but did not make a difference. Could the battery be the cause? The bulbs look fine!
Can anyone help?

Can you be a little more descriptive other than that they just dim? DO they get bright and then dim and bright and dim, like a cycle or they just don't seem as bright as they once did?

When the car was new they bright but as the car has aged they have lost their brightness....Thinking of replacing the bulbs with halogen or just living with low lighting. Compared the light with my new car and there was no comparison.

Please don't come in and make ridiculous suggestions that are in no way helpful.

I would suggest you look at your grounds. Maybe even invest in a grounding kit.

I just replaced mine with LED's. They made a substantial improvement.

I agree with Tom. My lights did the same thing a while back, I built a grounding kit and it seemed to fix SOME of the problem. I also replaced the door lights and rear plate lights with LEDs to further remove strain on the system.

The grounding kit costs much less to build and is very easy. Mine cost me a total of FREE, I had the material laying around. But, what I used would cost maybe $15 if that. All I used was some heavy gauge grounding wire from left over sound system installs and some end connectors...easy. I couldn't justify spending the extra $$$ to have a brand name on the kit. Wire is wire. (PheonixGold is what I had).

...And if it's still too dark, add more bulbs, LED that is...
