Got an '03 Sedan and the clock back-light is so dim it's impossible to read the time in total night-time driving, without taking my eyes off the road to stare at it for at least 3 or 4 seconds. Is it like this with everyone else? Or is there likely a bulb that's out? There is SOME light coming from a bulb, but it's incredibly dim.

My follow-up question is what all would need to be dismantled for me to get back there and replace the necessary bulb? Hopefully i can get at it without yanking the entire dash.

Thanks.

yea, my 04.5 is pretty dim too. It's not bad enough that I can't see the time, but its dim compared to the other lights in the car~

one of the bulbs in there is probably out...common problem. not too hard to replace if you are out of warranty

I've got a 03 coupe....so not sure if exactly the same, but sure it probably is...if not close.

there are 2 bulbs that light up the clock.

basically u get a plastic flathead screwdriver or a normal one with a thin but durable cloth over the end of it.

just go around the edges of the clock/led climatecontrol display and pop it out from the dash (again, this is on coupe...not sure on sedan) don't focus on one spot and keep prying...just pop, then move....pop then move....then when you can get you fingers on it you should be able to just pull it off.

there are 2 lights on the back.....you basically just use a flathead screwdriver, or bighead fillips and turn each bulb counterclockwise 1/4 a turn and the bulb basically falls out the back. then you insert the new one. and push/turn 1/4 turn clockwise.

If your clock is "dim" the you probably only have one burnt out bulb.

They are roughly 10bucks each at the infiniti dealer.

it only takes a few minutes to do.

also....i think there are other threads out there that may discuss this, and even have pics/diagrams.

good luck!
