digital speedometer

my digital speedo hasn't been working for.....well...since i got the car, i've finally taken the time to actually dig under the dash and get to the core of the problem...problem is...i don't know what to look for! if someone has fixed their speedo by digging under the dash let me kno ASAP, i don't have a lot of time to fix it and would appreciate someone who knows what's going on under there....i'll also post in the technical forum in case someone there knows what's going on....thanks
