I've searched about ways to fix this thing and most all the responses I've found have said that you have to resolder something. My question is what do you solder? Have the people that have done this just resoldered ALL the connections on the circuit board, so they make sure to hit the trouble spot(s)?

I'd really rather fix this problem myself if I can, but if I have to I will take it to a speedometer shop and see what they can do. Any help will be appreciated!

ThanksNate

Nate,I have the same problem and I read the posts on resoldering. I did finally show the unit to a friend who repairs all sorts of electronics on the side. He showed me all the fish eyes (bad /broken solder points, nearly all). His solution was to resolder all the connections but unfortunately one of my circuit boards was cracked (one with the large chip) from the previous owner. I installed an analog set till I get another set that works or one that can be reapired. There is a link to a company which repairs all sorts of digital units. They wanted $200 for a working unit with warrantee plus a repairable unit from you. They do have one in stock so check around the board for the link or go for re-soldering itGood luck.Gene..

Thanks, guys. I think I'll probably take it to a local speedometer shop and see what they'd charge. I called and they said they'd need to see the unit. So if it's more than $205 I'll probably send it to instrumentclusters.com... I really don't want to go analog.

I'd really like to fix this myself, but I just don't know if I or my dad will be able to...

Thanks again.
