whats the difference? my xentec slim ballest 5000k HIDs just burnt out and i'm driving around with the factory lights now and its horrible... going from HIDs to regular just feels so wrong... once you go HID, you never come back lol does your auto function on your headlights still work?

like a year and 2 months and the warranty was for 1 year lol so it burnt out like 2 months after the warranty expired.... maybe even less then 2 months. i heard much better things about the fat ballast. almost everyone with the slim one were no longer able to use the auto light function anymore and ppl with the fat ballast had no issues....

I have the slim ballast from DDM, I think just a bit under a year now and they work fine. There have only been two occasions where they didn't fire up, and it was just the driver side. After turning them off and back on it fired up just fine.

DDM has lifetime warranty too

I've been using the 80 dollar chinese ebay ones. And 80 bucks is bulbs and all hardware shipped LOL.

Had them in since I got the car in January. Both fire up all the time with auto on etc. Haven't had an issue at all. :D

I have the slim Xentecs and I dont keep it on auto. From when i did, id say 2 out of 10 times one of the lights didnt fire up so i always do it manually and they work every time.

It doesn't work for a reason. The auto func shortens the life spand of the bulb and bal so the digital bal shuts it down for a reason.. Non digital $75 and digital $80..

yaaaaa but its sort of like, the car comes with the auto function so i'd like to keep it OEM status.

If you don't mind going with new HID's every 6 months cuz you want your auto to work go with the non digital

i don't have a relay harness, dunno if you should bother. it does protect your oem harness from getting fried though, i took the gamble since i heard it's pretty rare
