Searched a little around the site and found conflicting info about the digital gauge conversion. With my ride, do i have to get the VSS from the same year that the cluster came from? Or if i have the analog VSS from my ride and a digital cluster from the same year as mine, will it work?

u have a 93, so u need a cluster from 91-94, but if u get a cluster from 89-90 u will need a vss from those years, but your tach wont work.

swap the tach in the cluster and that should resolve your problem. Additionally, you'll need the instrument cluster harness that sits behind the dash and runs into the cluster. they're different between the analog and the digital cluster.

okay thanks. You said i need a new tach? I think i understand, i need my present tach with the earlier models' cluster, right? Or will the tach not work if i get the 91-94 model cluster as well? Im just confused.

you'll need the tach for the same model transmission you're trying to run. Remember the tach for the 89-90 will only work for the 89-90's rpm sensor and vice versa for the 91-94 tach will only work for the 91-94 rpm sensor (rpm sensor's are located on the transmission and is easier to just swap the tach according to your transmission model). So you're running a 93, you'll want to find the tach from a 91-94 as the 89-90 will not work.
