digital display not working

does anyone know where i can get the digital part of my gauge cluster fixed for a reasonable price? i have a 91 240 and it has the HUD, i really want it to work. right now it turns on when i first start the car but dims out after about 10-15 seconds. both the LCD screen and the projection onto the windshield work, they just dim out together.

If you have the patience and access to an electronics lab you can just fix it yourself. I hate trouble shooting circuits but I feel that it's worth the money saved. Also, I'm a Physics major so I'm a dork and have access to cool equipment, ect.

If you pop open your gauge cluster, chances are that you'll find a lot of "fish-eyed" saudering connections and you might have to replace a few capacitors. Use an ohm-meter. Chicks dig nerds.
