I have an 89 Canadian 240 and i swapped in a DOHC.. Now i know that the sohc cluster doesn't support the Tachometer when you do the swap... now i just picked up 2 digital dashes with HUDS... now one is a DOHC cluster and the other one is a SOHC cluster... even when i plugged both in though..the tach is still not working... i forgot to mention though that only one of the digital dashes came with a wiring harness and it was the SOHC... i have the FSM but i'm missing the wiring diagram.. doesn't anyone know how i can repin the harness so the tach works... i would greatly appreciate it-Jack

I don't have the original diagram of the cluster... and i do not know the year's for either cluster nor harness.. the only thing i can tell you that i would assume is right is the SOHC digital dash harness that i am using for the DOHC Digital dash cluster is either from an 89 or 90 240 with HUDS... and the DOHC dash is from a 91 -94 240 with HUDS... which is obvious... ... To add to the issue.. today i found out that the Digital speedo doesn't come on when i start the car unless i tap my wipers once.. and then it flashes on... but the min i hit my brakes it shuts off.. also notice that if i turn just my running lights (ie. parking lights) on and hit the brakes the speedo doens't shut off.. it functions fine.. shows the speed just fine... just doesn't turn on under it own power.. lol I would really appreciate any help.. my original Canadian cluster worked fine.. and had no issues.. but i just swapped the dash yesterday and now all these problems are showing up...

With out wiring diagrams of the 2 vehicles parts are being used from, and with out the diagrams of the merger of the 2 different harnesses theres not much I can do to help ya.What I can say is clearly some wires need to be changed around and/or added to the existing harnesses, With out diagrams I couldnt even begin to guess where the problem lies in that car.
