I've got the 86 GL-L with digital, with a few problems.1a) left hand side has function which should read gallons left in tank from 5 down. Mine reads at full tank-5 (sometimes)1b) also reads 4 gallons towards 1/8 tankNever reads anything else! ?????????????

2a) Heat cannot be directed towards feet. With adjustment all the way towards floor, it seems to get really hot topside! Before I Know it, I have to shut off heat.Any help would be appreciated, any advise as to what other malfunctions might be on the horizon with digital will also work. Thanks, Bob

Well I don't remember too much abbout the digital dash, though I seem to remember the Dashes has issues with the dash computer. Best thing I can tell you is to try taking loose the connections and clean them out and put it back together. on a 20yr old car it's likely there's some cooroder connections..

could also be a bad sender, but I have no experience with them on the z31

as for heat, there are 2 vac lines that enter the cabin next to the battery ont he firewal, check them for cracks or breaks, they go to a cluster on the trans tunnel right next to the drivers feet, there si a series of dashpots that tend to stick or crack

The gas thing MIGHT be a sending unit at the gas tank. If that hasn't been replaced, it is bad.

If that does't work than you need to find someone that can troubleshoot.

the other issue is a vacuum problem. You might need to get someone to take apart a few parts of the dash to get to that, but with the automatic system they use vacuum to move the flaps.
