digital cluster

i have an 89 with a standard cluster(analog)....i bought a clip when i did my sr swap..and it came with a digital speedo cluster....with a hud.....i put just the tach in(temporarily)...so i have a tach, but i plan to convert mine to the digital....is this possible...and is there a wiring diagram that would help?....i am using the sr speed sensor too..so do i need to change that?....any help would be much appreciated

its simple

just change the sub harness, the one from the gauges to the car, and do your normal swap wiring and you should be good

i dono about a D engine but on my 92 kade all the colors lined up

I HIGHLY DON't recommend using the JDM cluster subharness. I learned from experience that it sortof works.

I can't speak for the digi cluster but the JDM analog subharness will look like the cluster is working fine (tach, speedo, water temp, ect.) but it will cause a fusebox meltdown on the taillight/cluster light fuse in the drivers kick pannel.

Also how are you using the digi tach in your analog cluster. I thought the tach was a little different size between the two.

On the other hand you should be able to get a USDM subharness and use the digi cluster without any problems.

well the tach is anolog....just the speedo is digital so it fit right in....when u say get the usdm subharness....u mean a digital usdm....do we have digital clusters here?....

Indeed I do mean a digital USDM subharness. Yep they came in certain models or as options or something. I had one and was pretty neat. My questions about the tach was mainly because I thought the tach on the digital cluster (mounted in the center) was slightly larger than the one in the regular cluster. Not trying to say that one tach was digi and one was analog.

yeah it is in the center..but it did fit right in..if anything its like a centimeter small cause you can just see a hair of the backlight through the side of the tach

yeah that is what I though...that it would be just a tad smaller.

I wish now I had kept my digicluster and used my sr tach in it.
