digital cluster swap?

so i was digging around in a junk yard and found a 92 coupe and it had a digital cluster in it and i have a 91 coupe but unfortuantely i have the analog cluster can someone tell me how to swap it in? i have the steering column taken apart but the plugs dont match what else do i need to find?

You need the digital harness.

^^^ exactly. just stick your hands further in the dash and youll find where it disconnects.

^ i see what you mean but the cluster itself just looks uneven without the pmh needle.

i got the harness and i even got the heads up display unit for the dash but the mph wouldnt work on either even though everything else works fine

And I agree, sort of...

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the cool turquoise glow of my HUD at night. But there's always something comforting when I've got the analog mounted up (because the digital cluster is on a workbench getting ready for me to play Dr. Frankenstein with a soldering iron and a handful of new capacitors)...

...I know the analog isn't going to crap out on me.

If I cared anymore I would do my best Broadfield imitation and run a custom setup or shell out for an Ark MFD or a Sard RD-1, but for the moment my Z has all my attention. That's ok, because like Chuck Norris my S13 doesn't sleep, it waits.

Welcome to the wonderful (continual) world of HUD repair.

You'll be pro at dropping the steering column in no time.

ha i have to agree with that i could probably do it blindfolded by now and i think im just going to get some led bulbs and re do my analog
