Digi Speedo ... I know I know but Read.

Ok .. so ive read how everyone has this problem and blah blah .. so i gave up and said ok .. so im not alone here .. thing is .. today after a few months of it not working it started to work .. weird .. but it went off again .. and all of a sudden all day its been coming on for a bit then it just dims out .. wierd all my instrument lights dont work in the cluster either never did .. is there a wire i should check? i know the fuse is good .. and the speed sensor works too .. ive tested it on the ecu .. anyone have this problem and got a fix .. or any clues as to what maybe shorting out ?? i miss my speedo .. i thought i was driving good using rpms .. but i noticed today when the speedo was working for a bit that i been speeding .. lol sucks .. any help is GREATLY appreciated .. im not sure if i had the same prob as you. but if the lights in the cluster come on and off over bumps and such. I had a micro crack in my board. I had it out one day and could not find the crack, but with it pluged in i could make the lights turn on and off by flexing the board. anyway, I went to a junk yard and removed the assembly from a trashed 240. I got lucky cause my dash lights work now. Its the assembly right behind the digi read out in the dash.

Another problem I noticed is that when the HUD is not working your mileage is not being counted either. If you bought it like that then your milage may be much higher than what you thought it was.

That previous statement is not necessarily true. My 92 has not had the HUD working since I bought the car over a year ago and I've put over 25K miles on it and it has recorded every single one of them.

tho my hud is not working my milage has been flipping ... did u guys check to see if your speed sensor is still working .. ?? u can sheck on your ecu .. i think its 2 blinks then just drive it and have a freind tell u if the green light turns on .. i think it turns on when u hit 20 mph ... i think ... something like that .. anyways thats what i did to determine if it was still working .. than like a week later i opened up the car on the highway at like 3am and i hit the speedlimiter .. heh i gotta remove that im used to hitting 145 in my civic i cant wait till i get my swap .. anyways later on today ima try the tcu .. didnt know anything about that .. so thanks for the heads up on that wangless ... cuz it does seem like something simple like i said when i corner hard sometimes it turns on then just fades off ... *shrug* ill look into thanks

heh... i know my speed sensor doesnt work, i just dont have the money to fix it lol
