digi dash tach too big?

i just recently noticed this. i have a 90 coupe with the digi dash and the HUD, and it seems as though the tach is too big if that makes sense.
for example, heres what it should look like:

notice how the hash marks and numbers all fit on the tach, like they should.
now, heres what mine looks like:

see how it looks like its too big?
ive noticed a handful of other s13s with this issue too
since mine was swapped to a DE from a E, im thinking maybe who ever did the swap put an analog tach from a DE car in there instead. but im not entirely sure.
anyone else ever experience this?

Zackly - I swapped a digital DOHC tach into an analog SOHC cluster, and the gauge was too "small". So yeah, they are apparently different sizes.

interesting. so to fix that, i would have to get a digital DOHC tach then? or would it have to be a SOHC digital tach since its a SOHC cluster?
