Very common problem for digital cluster. It's either capacitor or soldering point is getting bad.

I'd check capacitor first and see.

hey it could also be a bad connection with the speed sensor... the problem was that the whole harness was torn up to a speed bump that i ran over. hang up the harness if that is the problem after fixing it. i rewired the whole transmission harness

Was yours displaying '0' and got stuck there or not showing at all? I think your case, at least '0' was displaying.

seems to be the capacitor because I checked and the connections are good.

I drove the 240 again and numbers came on after 35 mins of driving then I turned the car off, came back turned it on 20 minutes later and still worked, went to mall came back 2 hours later it didnt work at all till i was 3 mins away from home. darn!where can i buy the capacitor at?? I got the soldering iron already!! wooo!thank you

You didn't check the link I posted. This info is right in there.

http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=158878

Vendor - Phone - Part # Electronics Express (800)972-2225 14ER0501U Allied (800)433-5700 852-6604 Digi-Key (800)344-4539 P5563-ND

Problem is if you take it to any shop, they will charge you a lot to fix it.
