well here is the deal I have a s14 with most likely a s14 cross member. The owner prior to myself did the 5 lug conversion. Well today I took out my differntial abs s14 vlsd. well I also have a s13 jdm differential with a nismo lsd in it. So here is my dilemma the s14 has 2 carrier bolts while the s13 has 4. my cross member only has two holes for the carrier bolts. The covers of the differentials do not look like they will be interchangable. Any ideas to what I should do? Or any ideas what cross member I have? here are some pics

first is the two diff side to side the one on the left is the jdm s13 while the one tot he right is the s14 vlsd.

Take the diff's to your local machinest. Take the nismo with the output flanges out of the s13 and install them into your s14 carrier.

You could swap the covers but you will find that the ABS diff is longer and your 2ndary prop shaft won't line up properly.

If they are the same length (S13 ABS diff by chance) then simply swap the covers.

If the S13 diff is shorter then you'll need to either get a non-ABS propshaft or swap out the differential units.

well here is the problem now the rear covers of the JDM s13 differntial non abs and the S14 USDM differential does not swap. The usdm s14 abs differential cover does not swap onto the the s13 jdm differential and vis versa.

I guess i need to swap the actual LSD from the s13 differential into the s14 differential. Do you think that would work meaning would the Nismo LSD in the s13 unit fit in the s14 differential?

The differentials are the exact same housing/unit (R200V)

So yes, they will fit. Only issue I can see is there are two versions of the Nismo LSD... the R200 and the R200V (V = OEM VLSD) so the output flanges may need to be swapped as well.

same housing meaning the covers will swap between the two are swappable???

well the thing is they are NOT swappable. I just tried today and the s14 differential cover does not fit on the jdm s13 differential.

i'm not sure if the jdm s13 diff is differnt than the usdm s13 diff but it clearly would not fit. Nothing mathced up.

So basically I have to swap the guts of the differentials.
