This is new to me too. Are you sure this is a diff light? Can you take a pic?

A light flashes above this differential/axel like shape, then after a bit it goes off. I hope this gives enuf detail to get some information on this question. Thanks
All the warning/idiot lights should come on and then go off during start up, to "show" they are functioning/aren't burned out. I'm not sure how long is normal, or how long beyond normal is a real issue. Does it come on at any other time? That would be more of a concern.

Please post a digital pic. of the dash light. I looked in the FSM for your car, and it doesn't mention a transmisison/diff. light, so I wonder if it's something else? To my knowledge the only transmission warning comes up as a text message in the odometer cluster (A/T Check). I don't think the differential has a fluid level sensor.

Not the trans light itself but a smaller one above it. I see it and know its their, flashing, does no one understand what Im talking about??? I guess I should call a Infiniti dealer and ask them about this flashing light, because it must mean some kind of warning!
I have never heard of a car called NISMO.

I bet your parents have a great sense of humor to give you a name like joe blow.

Wish I could help, but you seem to be a little vague on your problem description as well as your user information.

I have 2 1994 Q's and neither has a diff light. One has the HICAS light, and I have seen the TCS light. I wonder if you connect your seat belt, the light goes out.

We will need to see a picture. You may have the rarest US model Q45!

Wow... that's harsh!

I once had a computer professor (back in the early 90s) that thought that the "HD" stamped on a 3.25" floppy disk to indicate that it was high density, was "CH" (had the disk upside down). Something tells me this is a similar situation of mis-reading a symbol - and maybe not reading an owner's manual.

When I looked at mine after reading this, the only light I saw that was remotely like what he's talking about was the check engine light, might be mistaken for looking like a trans.?

You got us all scratching our heads on this one.

Yeah, when I went back and re-read the post, it does seem harsh.

I was at work, and probably shouldn't be typing anything, It was a bad day.

I was just trying to find out something about the poster, and when I went to his User info, it looked strange. I guess some people try to be extremely ambiguous online.

Sorry, if I hurt your feelings, Joe.

Oh boy...he already admitted it was a little out of line.

One thing that we have encouraged here for many years is a complete profile. We don't need your exact name and home address, but the type of car, options, location, mileage, etc. are very useful in figuring out what's going on with someone's car.

For instance, if someone from Key West mentioned that their car wouldn't start - I would have a very different theory on why vs. someone in Alaska. I might theorize that the car flooded during the cold start enrichment cycle for the Alaska car - but would know better for a Key West car that rarely sees sub-60 degrees. Your profile does have the location, so thanks for that - but otherwise it gives us absolutely no information of value. That was Jeff's point.

Now back to the issue at hand please? Pics? More description?

Heath:I think most people here are very helpfull & nice, and I have appreciated it, & I have enjoyed all of the help people have given. But when people like Jeff, act immature leaving rude reply's for no reason, it does not help at all. And of course my real name is not Joe, it's the net never use real names. The reason why I deleted my question is because no one knew what I was talking about, and I dont own a digatal camera, so I removed the question it's not that important. I've tended to focus on car related topics in this forum for that is what I thought is was for. I don't understand any of these non topic related remarks, and would rather talk about Nissan's and Infiniti's, how to improve are car's performance, handling, & reliability ect....

Keep in mind that sarcasm is difficult to type. From "knowing" Jeff over the years, I don't think his comments were malicious... just out of frustration because we all know there isn't a differential light on the car - or would be very surprised if there was.______

OK, in the absence of a digital camera, I looked in my 94 FSM. Here's a pic of the warning light cluster.

Which light is it? Something like thrid from the left on the top row? That's the best guess I have - and if so it's that's the "Check Engine" light. If that's the one, you should try to pull ECU codes. On a 1994, which is OBDI, that light doesn't come on except for a relatively major fault. It's not like the OBDII system (found in 1996+ Nissans) that will light up for the most minor of issues, like forgetting to appropriately tighten your gas cap.

Thanks, Heath. I spent 20 minutes searching the FSM for those pics and couldn't find it. I was going to email the guy and send him a copy of my FSM, so he could read-up on the car. When I checked his user infor it was non-existant. That iw why I posted my phone number.

Some guys should just read and not post, maybe I am one of them. I cried for an hour last night just thinking about making someone mad over the internet.

Thanks Heath, its the engine light I have only owned this car for two months & know little about it. I will find some one to read the codes, I think I heard aut zone will do it.

(Far Fetched) How are you going to check if im smoking crack, are you a crack dealer or some thing? The only thing I smoke is my car's tires any ways.

(FarFetched)Ya, Im shure you will try to smoke a joint off rubber, I bet this is the smartest thing you have thought of all year.

(Jesda) I dont make threats!

All of these remarks sound like grade school kids, is this web site really about Nissans, or child like games? I dont give a crap what you say, inless it has some thing to do with my car!

Ya, seems stupid, Im new & have been looking at this post and dont know why people started giving this guy INFINITI Q45 a hard time to start with, & sounds like he got upset. It looked as if he was just asking a question & and people were kinda mean to him & you cant help but to defefend against crap talkers. Just my opinion.
