there is a guy local to me that is parting out a wrecked z32. i already bought brake parts from the car, and now i want to get the VLSD for my 91 240. what i need to know is how long it should take to get out, and what kind of tools i will need. i will have to take it out myself. also if theres anything i should know before i go about doing this please LMK. im getting it for like $100, so i cant pass this up.

on the ground about an hour and a half. you will need 17mm socket ,1/2 in breaker bar, 14mm socket and wrenches, maybe 19mm, 12mm socket. I think thats all you need maybe I missed something. Havent yanked one out in awhile.

yep. I believ there are 4 bolts holing it to the car 2 from the back and 2 from the front. We have a z32 on a rack at work I will take a visual of it today to be sure cause I am trying to visualize it in my head but I may be confusing it a little for the Z31. But I am pretty sure thats all there is to it. I dont thing the cross member needs to be dropped but thats why I am gonna look today to be sure I am not steering you the wrong direction. Gotta remember I can work on as many as 15 to 20 nissans a day so you can understand how I could confuse them sometimes...lol. I will post back this evening.

It wouldnt be all that difficult for you to change over,as a matter of fact nissan has started a new program with its technical training program. alot of your GM certification can be transfered over to nissan and you would already be at or near the level you are certification wise with Nissan. You would have to take a few update courses to cover the more manufacturer specific stuff.

In case you wanted to know...lol

You can hate me if you like I didnt get a chance to look at that Z today to be sure about how it comes out. Sorry man. I will try to get a look at one tomorrow.

It does infact just drop out there is one more thing your need to reposition and thats the sawy bar remove the brakets that hold it up against the bottom of the car and let it hang from the control arms . this will give you room to slide the diff forward so it will drop out of the rear mounts. I was correct in my thinking earlier it is the Z32 i was thinking of. Good luck.
