Hi everyone,

Does anybody know how to change differential gear oil.

If anybody knows, simple directions would be great.

Thanks,

Geoff.

take drain plug out, drain oil, replace drain plug to proper torque, take out top filler plug, and add proper amount of fluid...

It really is that easy..

I don't mean to sound silly, but where is the drain plug located and where is the refill plug located.

I take your word for it being that easy, but I have only changed/filled engine oil and transmission fluid; never have I changed differential gear oil before.

Thanks,

Geoff.

When you find the refill hole [leftside rear near top of diff], make sure you can remove the refill plug before draining out the old lube............otherwise tough to turn the entire car upside down for filling from the drain.

What he said. What he said.Hope these pics help. Pink is the filler plug and green is the drain plug.also, get a hand pump from kargen, it'll make the job a lot easier.

The differential is the single highest friction part of the driveline at low speeds especially from a standing start!

You don't need any additives as the VLSD is a sealed internal unit.

A PREMIUM Synthetic diff lube is best changed every 2 year [30k].

Redline or Mobil 1.

There is a drain plug and a fill plug. Been a while since I did it. If I recall, I used a length of tubing into the fill hole and squeezed a bottle (seems like it was almost 2 qts.) of warmed diff (ltd slip) oil into the tube which I held up near the roofline. Snake the tubing (plastic) through the wheel well - etc. etc.

They changed the design the latter part of 94.. on my 94 Q the drain is on the bottom, but on my 95 Q it was on the back.
