Most likely it is something else, such as brake pad/rotor issue.
even if it is the differential, have you tried to change the fluid?

You're saying the car was driven with no oil in the differential for 30-45 minutes? And then you drove it some more to get it to your mechanic?peety wrote:i see a film on my trunk and in the inspection i found that my plug was missing. so i took it to my mechanic and he put a new plug in it and filled it up. now the drive was at least a 30-45 min. drive and i wonder could that have damaged my diff.
