IHey does anyone have any advice on how to get the drain plug loose to drain the front and rear end differential fluid on a 2002 QX4. A buddy and I have both tried to turn that drain plug but are afraid of breaking the bolt or something. We've even used a breaker bar but those things are in there good. Before I break something or take it to the shop I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks!!

You need to heat it with a torch.

I had the same problem. You will round the bolt out before you get it out without using a torch.

Get a small handheld propane torch and heat up the bolt until it starts to glow (about 10 seconds or so if I remember correctly). It should come out real easy with a standard 1/2 inch drive rachet. Remeber not to touch it, it will be extremely hot! Just give it a few turns to break it loose and then let it sit for a few minutes to let it cool.

Darn good advice Fueler... Make sure you can get new stuff in before taking the old stuff out!
