differential clunk

So i just bought my first 240 about a week ago and it has a nismo 2 way lsd. Now when i bought the car he said it made a clunking noise on slow turns and that it was supposed to do that i also had some friends tell me its supposed to. But i cant get my head wrapped around that anyone care to elaborate??????? :gotme

It is a clutch type differential, it will make noise. Usually a lot of it.

essentially... in the lamest way of describing it... the tires are trying to turn at the same speed side to side... that's obviously not possible while turning... with a proper diff like you have, the diff will clunk as the speeds from side to side change slightly... with a welded diff, the clunking is absent and replaced with the inside tire jumping slightly

either way... its not a big deal... that IS what it is supposed to do... the real diff will be slightly less harsh on tires daily driving than a welded diff... both are great for drifting
