I'm amazed...I was having horrible noises on deceleration and so I crawled under the car. It seems that the front bushings on my VLSD are TOTALLY GONE. I mean gone, as if they never existed. The front of the differential is now a good 3 inches lower and has left the bolts and metal part of the bushings still cleanly attached to the subframe. I dont think nissan sells just the bushings, so I'm a bit lost on what to do. The only thought I have is to have solid aluminum inserts machined. Has anyone ever heard of a problem similar to mine? I havent...

try getting some large fender washers that are larger than the bushings, and will contact the metal, then take out the bolts, with the bushings, and put the washers in between the bolt and the bushing, then reinstall, the washers will hold up the VLSD, but it will prolly make more noise, since the vlsd will now be solid mounted to the chassis.

See, I used washers between the subframe and the differential, just not between the top of the diff and the bolt (if that makes any sense). Also, you must have missed the fact that the bushings are gone...as in gone, poof, vanished. There's just two big gaping holes in the mounting ears where they used to be, and they are NOT attached to the car still, although the bolts are. Its crazy I tell ya!

there part number 7-1108 worked in my '91 infinity r200 diff for the front bushings. saved a bundle over the dealer cost.

SPL parts sells the solid aluminum inserts that fit right in. They are usually a bit annoying to install because you have to remove the stock bushings with a press and torch, but I guess you wont have that problem lol. I have them on my car and it really makes the rear end solid, less wheel hop, more suspension movement instead of the subframe moving around. Of course, it does add a bit more sound but I love them.

Good call dusty, I'll give Alan a ring and see if he can get me a set on short order :) If that fails, I have a washer + polyurethane construction adhesive solution waiting in the wings.

Ouch...scratch that, those things are 180 bucks! I'll just implement the ghetto fabulous solution ;)
