Hey Guys. It's been quite a while since I've failed at search and needed to post a question. I almost miss this... almost.

I need to know what bearings to order. I have a regular open diff on a '95 S14. I bought an S15 HTD. The bearings on that were damaged. I attempted to pull them off of the open diff. but they get damaged upon removal. So I need a pair of new bearings.

The bearings look just like I've seen in every photo of the diff. rebuild. They are taper style (cone) bearings with a tapered outer race that can simply fall off... just like in the pictures. One race has 30209J stamped onto it.

Anyway, I ordered a pair of TM30209C bearings from Auto Parts Warehouse and they arrived today. They are not anything like my diff. bearings. They visually look like a throw-out bearing on one side, no taper (cone), with some sort of frame and tabs on the other side that appear to slip onto something. I can take a picture of this incorrect bearing if you're truly interested. It is so bizzare that I suspect it might not even match the box it came in. The box is labeled TM30209C. I have to send them back. I have to order the right parts.

Nissan dealership can get them for me for $80 each and has a part number of "38440-N3111" The thing is, if I could find the right bearing to order, they should only cost $35-40. When I call a bearing dealer around here, he cross references the Nissan number and tells me 30209C or 30209M will work. WTH? I ordered that!

Furthermore, if you've been here before, you'll know you can buy a taper bearing and a race separately. That will work for me also. I was told a part numbre for the cone might be 17887, but they don't know which race to pair that with. One some retailer sites, they have multiple races with different O.D. and I don't know which one is correct.

Thank you.

30209c is right. TM30209c is not. Be careful when ordering from online retailers. They do not know this difference and they do list the wrong bearings as applicable to our cars.
