No, all 16 of my lifters did not have them. And the set I had before on my spare head (that I sold!!!!! ) did not have them either. I honestly don't think it will matter, but I just want some type of reassurance from people like Sean, Ryan, Dee, Rafi, etc...Kouks wrote:Is it just me or does it look like it had one there at one time. I dunno, the dimensions are the same, i dont see a problem with it.
I'd like to... but I just don't have any more money at this point! I've spent almost $4,000 on this motor swap so far.CA19DET wrote:i would replace all together, otherwise you'll always have one or a few going at a time.
The lifters are off the later motors. The earlier variants are the ones you have. How I know this, because I have parts off both pre and post 1989 CA18DET engines to include the AWD/FWD and RWD versions. I never looked at that before, but that appears to be the case (Could be wrong).c-rad wrote:

LOL, that's right. Not really a sale... more like a trade of lifters and cams for a crank pulley and PS pump Good to know though. I'll just mix and match em and run em.float_6969 wrote:Chris, I was the one you sold your old lifters to, remember? Anyway, mine are now mixed and matched like your pics and I'm not having any problems.
Why aren't you on AIM anymore?float_6969 wrote:Just to let you know, I pre-primed them in a bucket of oil by hand first. This sucks, and I don't know if it's nessicary. Also, some of mine were very easy to compress, whereas, some of them were very hard to compress. I think the ones that are easy to compress are bad as I've still got a lot of valvetrain noise.
