On Bosch's website., They have two different part numbers for 2018 rogue rear brake pads. They list one for power parking brake, the other one for manual parking brake. Are they really different? Are the other manufacturers or Nissan also having it this way?

Thanks a lot.

The manual brake on gen2 Rogues is a drum-in-disc setup with separate shoes for the parking brake. Electric parking brakes use actuators on or in the caliper to clamp the pads to the rotor. Some OE's actually do use different pads for electric, since the actuators "screw" into place and the turning of the piston requires a modified backing plate for some designs. To my knowledge, that's not true of any N/I models. The second part number you're seeing may be for the shoes on the manual version.

Thank you so much for the information. But i remember 2018 rogue should all use disc rear brake. Other websites all list it as pad, not shoe. Very confusing.

They are all disc, but the manual e-brake version has a drum inside the hub of each rotor with a set of shoes, completely separate from the main braking system. The electric version uses the primary pads and rotor for both functions.

Thanks again. That makes sense now. I just got chance to jack up my rogue. It is a motor-over-piston type power brake as you said. So I guess the difference between power or manual parking brake pad is the back plate of the pad. The piston of power brake model is not regular circle one. Bosch's brake pad has their back plate installed as one piece(so you cannot re-use the old back plate) so they list them two different part numbers.

I assumed my 18 had a manual parking brake so that’s what I installed. No issues to date but really didn’t pay attention to the pads and rotors. I wish Nissan would use a larger pad on the rear so the pads don’t wear out twice as fast as the front.

I guess I should have said that because I have a pedal to push down beside the brake pedal that it was manual.

Yep, that's a correct assumption. If it was e-Park you'd have a switch and not a pedal.
