Upon checking the block of the KA that I am building I found up to .006 variance in the top of the block. If I get the block milled, back to flat, can a person get a thicker head gasket for the valves don't hit the pistons? or the pistons not hit the head?. . . Any other suggestions?John

read the FSM, it has the maximum amount you can shave off of both sides.

I don't think you'll have any problems with a veriance of .006-- wouldn't think you'd have to do anything with that small of a difference. I'd speak with someone more in the know but man that is nothing. We are talking metric here right?

If you milled the bottom of the head you would have an issue, but since you only did the top of the block your fine. The valves sit inside the KA's head, you can see it for yourself. Theres no way that the valve would hit the piston in its closed position, UNLESS you shaved a bunch of the bottom of the head.

Also the KA is an interference motor.. Im sure you knew that already just making sure.

To be on the safe side, and you should do so anyway, put a metal HG on there. You dont need a super fat one, just a normal one lets the head sit higher than a stock one, that will compress.
