I have a red top sr20 installed in my 93 240sx hatch. cruse control has been eliminated, but existed and worked fine when I had my KA. I have my flex-a-lights hooked up to a manual switch, but I want to be able to let my turbo timer shut down the car AND the fans at the same time. If I switch the fans on, I have to sit with the car while it idles.

Yesterday I was thinking about all of this and tried to see if the cruse control shut off when I shut the car off. It does, but I don't know if it will stay on when I have the key out, and the TT is running the show.

My question is:Can I wire the electric fans to use the old cruse control switch rather than the one I have hooked up now (auto zone switch) and would the fans turn off when the TT shut down the car?

How would I do this?

Is there a better alternative?

I had a flex-a-light thermo switch, but the temerature probe got bent and no longer works don't ask how.

^ Use the fuel pump relay as the trigger for the relay that controls the fans. Then if it's not already done this way, put your switch inline with the wire that grounds the fan relay.Switch on the fan runs, TT shuts the car down, no more power from the fuel pump relay, the fan relay shuts down, everything turns off!
