on a s13, what is the different between abs and non-abs driveshaft? I know that abs is slightly shorter so that probabaly means either 1) transmission sits back further or 2) differential is closer to the driveshaft

so what exactly is going on here? I have a swapped motor/transmission (sr20det) and a swapped vlsd from a canadian r32 (probably have abs?)

do I buy abs or non abs driveshaft?

The ABS driveshaft is about an inch shorter. The sensor for the ABS is in the rear differential and makes the ABS diff about an inch longer. Look at the diff where the driveshaft goes into the diff, you should see a sensor there if it is an ABS diff, otherwise no sensor means it is a non abs diff.

hi, thanks for the info, I been meaning to find that out!

do you think you can find a photo of this sensor per chance? I don't recall the r32 vlsd had it and I find it hard to believe that a r32 does not have abs...

now I am confused, it looks like a connector is coming out from near the rear cover... is that what it is?

That is a non ABS diff, so you need the non ABS driveshaft.

BTW this diff has the ABS sensor, notice the sensor at the point where the driveshaft connects to the diff.
