The S15's only came with one turbo, there was never a change while the car was in production. However it was only produced from 99-02 I believe which doesn't leave much time for factory production mods.

Well I know that the 300zx ran the T28 also. Idk if there are any differences between the two...

I believe the 300ZX ran dual T25s. But I am not certain.

According to Garrett it is filed as the GT2560R, but Nissan still refers to it as a T28.

I think the OP is refering to the supposed differences between the Spec-S and Spec-R S15 turbos. From FRsport.comThe Difference between this turbo and the S15 Spec S Turbo (Nisan_14411-69F00/Garrett_466541-5001) is the Hi Nickel "NiResist" turbine housing and inconel blade materials for extreme heat resistance. One can expect to push a few more horsepower out of this turbo than the Spec S version. I can't remember, but IIRC, 17.5 PSI is the efficiency limit on the Spec-R S15 turbo.

That is TOTALLY wrong... As S15 Silvia's go the Spec-S is the non turbo version & the Spec-R is turbo. I don't know where the hell they're getting their information from. That needs to be revised.

I think the op means to ask about the difference between the blacktop T28's as there is a difference between the S14 T28, and the S15 T28, The S15 being a bit stronger.

"The third generation(S15) received a more refined T-28 turbo. The compressor was the same BCI-1 wheel put inside a T04B housing, but the turbine received an upgraded inconel wheel and had a cast divider wall in the wastegate discharge path to help aid spool characteristics."zerothread/306956

Edit: I sent them a nice email, so hopefully they fix it

This is what they had to say

"Hi Anthon, it appears you are right. Whoever wrote that description didn't know about the Spec S. For clarification, the 14411-69F00 was used in S15 model as well. It was used in models that had an Auto 4 Speed transmission. It is also the same turbo as the MT/AT S14 Silvia K's since J's and Q's were non-turbo.

Regards,

Vu"

Well, that further clears things up like he said. The S14 T28 was carried onto the automatic S15 Spec-R's. I guess Nissan had a few left over? Would suck if you were dealing with an importer who doesn't know if the car was A/T or M/T intriguing...

Good info. Now that I think about it, I believe I've heard before that the auto S15's had a different turbo. Seems, as you and Vu stated, that they were leftovers from the S14's. Thanks.
