Alright guys the story is: I have my own lil KA-T project going and everything is all stripped down and im starting to order parts (so any hook ups on like pistons, rods, arp studs, ect. would be greatly appreciated  ). I own a 93 240sx and when i ordered an oil pump the first time they sent me one for the single cam KA. I got it switched around for the "right one" I'll say and notice it was still wrong the coolant passages were missing as part of the cover. I went to thier location to match up my old one and the parts guy asked me if I knew if my car was a bastard child or not (as far as i know its not but it is possible). He was saying that it looks like a 95 oil pump/front cover set up not 93. I thought Ka's (dohc) were all the same in the 240's with some cam and ecu differences. So basically i need to find out if when im ordering stuff it needs to be for a 95 or if the parts guy was wrong and he need to give me the right oil pump lol.

DDUUUUUUVVAAAAAAALLL!!!! lol sorry i just had to

I did a lil thinking and research and come to the conclusion that it is just the wrong part. The coolant passages are there because of the water pump and it has to be the same on all because of the way its setup with the fan clutch and whatnot. The one i got the second time was for the right engine but for the altima FF version of the KA where the water pump is off to the side.

I think I'll be happy in the mid 300's hp but really as dumb as it may sound im just gunna take my time put stuff together and hope for the best lol

those studs how many miles on em and how many times have they been reused?

there few differences in the dohc motors, one way u can tell which year u have is by looking at the side of the block n the s13 dohc motor should say something like 50 degrees n the s14 dohc say 75 degrees.. also the valve covers are slightly different...

i dint know any of this until a guy came to my house n showed me the differences, i had both the s13 n s14 dohc motors side by side..

95's are weird cause early ones like mine use all S13 running gear, but it seems like later ones started using more and more S14-esque OBDII type stuff. Either way I thought all the timing covers were the same from 91-97 until the 98 where they switched to a single chain timing setup. Am I wrong?

Advanced auto hooked it up tho and swapped me out 95-98 are different. I've heard they have oil squirters too??? only year to have them i swear my 91 had them that i tore down? eh

Well I finally did get the right one he ordered one for a 95. I did some looking around though and found different parts stores gave me different answers. One would show both the wrong and right one another would only show the wrong one but when you looked it up for a 94 it was the right one and another got it right the first time. I then decided to go to Nissan and have them run he VIN to make sure the info I knew was correct and I found my car is NOT a bastard child just parts places have stupid systems. My block says 53F on it so I'm guessing that's the number you were taking about mixedS14.

I got news for you man. ALL 95's are bastard children LOL. why do you think its the 94 parts that work for your car? Cause 95's are just a conglomeration of S13 parts thrown together to get cars off the production line before the 96/OBDII redesign. Pretty much any time I need something engine related for my car, I look it up for an S13 and it fits. Makes it kinda nice for me actually since I'm using my S13 as a donor car for my 95 S14 project

Well mine is a 93 but that still is good to know cuz then parts off of a 95 if I were to run into one would most likely work. Thanx for the fun fact lol
