Hi all,

Are there any differences in the cars from 92-94? is there a better year to get? is everything interchaingable?

I just happen to have access to boath a 94 and 93 convertable and there are a few things that I am find different, nothing big yet, but just want to know if there are things to look for or if one year is more desirable over another?

Thanks

The 92-94 are virtually identical.

In fact, the 94's are "leftover" coupe chassis from 93 that didn't sell... As you know, the 240 was suspended for the 94 model year, and only the convertible was produced.

I'd challenge anyone to tell the differences in cars from 92-94.

Hi Greg,

Okay, I am new to this car and all, but have dealt with old cars for many years and there are always little differences

The main reason for the questions is: I bought a 94 240sx convertable about 3 weeks ago, then last weekend just picked up a 93 convertable. Both are red and look the same for the most part (except pin stripping ect..)

on the inside so far everything seems to be the same, but the rear view mirror. the 93 has a smaller mirror with no map lights in it, like it is a replacement mirror. Where the 94 has a larger mirror with map lights on the bottom side (with switches).

I am still trying to figure out which car to keep and which one to sell...Swap the better parts to the better car and sell the other one.

I took the dome light out to see it's wiring harnes see if the 93 used to have the origonal rear view mirror and it was replaced (checking for the wiring harness) and well there is no wiring harness for that mirror in the car (no extra unpluged connectors or cut wires).,

Like wise I took the 94 dome light out to see it's wiring harnes and there are 3 connectors and a groud wire, none of which is in teh 93. So there is the first difference I have come across...

Now could this be an isolated case?? possible maybe they ran out of mirros or wiring harness when this car was put together. Who is to say. Any one out there with there convertables that have rear view mirrors with no map lights?

It sounds to me like you may have parts available from the car you don't choose.

Could you let the group know what you have available once you make your choice?

When I am done putting a 5spd in one of the cars, the other will be sold as a complete car (not doing anything to it except driving it). Both cars are in great shape, and I needed a car to drive while putting in the 5spd, so I just picked up another convertable (just happenend to work that way)

I think those are just basic options. The models with big differences are the 89-90, 91-94, 95-96, 97-98 are motor/chassis differences.
