My 92 over heated. So I am looking at a 93 in Atlanta. What can I not use between the two cars? Are the chain guides metal on the 93 built 01/92? I have a good transmission in my 92, will it swap over no problem?

THANKS!

I fixed the thread title for you .

transmission should swap, some 94/95 guys have eariler ones.

I wouldn't call 01/92 a late 93 model year build, so I'd have my doubts about the guides. Assume they're in need of replacing and use that as a negotiating tool.

See if they'll let you look at the TCU, to see if it's a 1st gear start. Part #'s are in a thread in the Q45 forum.

Thought all 1993 TCM are first gear start, although there was a revision even in this ultra short model run.

Sorry, my point was vague, I meant to make sure (as in no one has swapped/taken the 1st gear start TCU).

My bad.

Thanks man...

I called Scottsdale, after talking to my local mechanic, and it appears the metal guides were used from 07/92. The car is exactly the color of my 92, but the main reason I am looking at this is the engine. If the guides aren't done, I won't be buying it.

I really want to keep my 92. Love the car. But $5000 for a complete engine over haul, then another 5k for a factory quality paint job? On a car worth $3000 running?

I'm crazy to even think it ....

Sad but true, you can cherry pick a G50 from NICO for less.

Might be one in the wild, but difficult to find.

Part it out. Pick up nick's super-freaking-mint dealer-maintained silver 91 Q with under 50k on the engine and guides done.

See classifieds section. I think he's aksing $5700, which is quite fair.

Once I saw it, I tried. But like one minute too late. DId the sale not go through? I'll grap it if it didn't.

Any thing else that doesn't work between these cars? MAF? Injectors? Knocks?
