Wiring, ECU, power ratings, etc.

95% of it is electronically related.

I'd rather go with an R33...

Pull that cover off the R34, and they start looking alot more alike

I've heard the R34 motors use a pull-type clutch, as opposed to the push-type you find on most RBs. That would be a pain in the ***...

R34 has an extra throttle body for traction control, different injectors (top feed but hard to upgrade) and a slightly bigger turbo with a plastic compressor wheel. if you want to modify a lot the R33 version will probably be a better choice.

Ya but isn't that also the case with the SR20? The S13's sr vs the s14 and s15 had a better flowing head didn't it?

sometimes older is better ^_^

yeah the old SR had better ports for a hard core race motor but in most situations the new version is better. another thing, the cams have slighlty less duration but more lift on the neo RB25 and I'm fairly sure the injectors are only 340cc.

Do not forget that the R34 will almost certainly have lower mileage.

so im guessing it would be a much bigger pain to put the r34 rb in my car than the r33 rb
