Hey guys,

So after finding out that the oil pressure sensor was in a different location on the JDM motors, what other differences are their?

The engine will idle, but after 3 or so minutes it begins running rough. Needle jumps to about 1200 RPM, but jumps up and down to 400 or less then dies out.

Is the TPS and IACV in the same spot as the UDSM motors?

Will adjusting the CAS help any?

I also have a problem with it stalling and dying out, when driving. Any recommendations on what vacuum lines I should check for a leak. The engine I have is a 90 JDM TT motor.

Does anyone have a JDM version of a repair manual for these motors?

the oil sender is ont he opposite side but when you put a jdm engine in your swap it over, there si a plug int he usdm side you simply swap the plug for the sender, the plenum has the vac booster fittings ont he wrogn side you simply swap them over as well

the tps iacv and all other sensors are exactly the same

adjusting the cas will adjust your ignition timing, adjusting ti will help if your problem si incorrect ignition timing whihc I doubt and even then you should not be adjusting it wihtout a timing light!

no jdm manual because its the exact same motor they simply had to move a few things to fir the rhd chassis

no that we've cleared up your miscelaneous questiosn we can actually troubleshoot your car

step1, check the ecu for codes
step2 verify taht the car si runnign on all 6 cylinders (with the car running unplug each cop 1 at a time, this should cause the idel to drop or the car to die if not you have found a cylinder that does nto work

step3, let us know the results of step 1 and 2

Thanks evildky,

Ill try these onece the rain lets up.

I found a write up on tt.net for checking ecu codes. So Ill do that first.

The caps/coil packs are the plugs on the top ot the plenum correct? So your saying if I pull one, and it continues to idle after being pulled its a bad cylinder?

if you pull the connector on the coil pack and notice the engine idle does not change, you found your bad cylinder. I would check for codes, corroded connectors on the injectors, idle air control units (back of the plenum) and boost/vacuum leaks. (I had/have this problem also with the JDM motor). Let us know what the results are.
