Hello, I was looking into getting a 1990 engine to rebuild, I have a 1994 300zx na, would the 1990 engine be a plug and play swap, was thinking about swapping the new injectors into the 90 engine, can I use the 94 ecu with the 90 engine, are parts harder to get for the 1990 engine, any suggestions or inputs are appreciated! Thank you!

Parts are equally available for both years.

You will, however, want to upgrade your injectors to the new style of the '94, and also get a new style PTU and CAS. There was also a machining problem in the early '90 model that lead to premature head failure.

So, to answer your question, no, it will not be totally plug and play unless you do some small conversions to it as listed above.

EDIT:

The '90 also had AIV's, which are not supported by the '94 ECU, so that would also have to be deleted.
