difference in s13 blacktop and s14 motors

recently purchased a 95 black 240 with a s13 blacktop in it. Guy said he was going to buy a s14 front clip and throw all that stuff in my car. I would like it somebody could give me specific detaisl on how to tell the difference and things i should look for in the s13 and s14 so i know he didnt just say that and keep the old s13 in it.

ahh well i found a good picture on another site that really described what the "notch top" was but hi, Im jet and i just purchased a 240sx with the s14 front end conversion, pretty much the s14 front end9so fasr as i know lol) and a carbon fiber hood. Hopefully be up and running end of next week and id love to get to some meets as im fairly new to this.....

you just utterly confused me. it does not sound like you even know what you bought.

post some pictures of your car and the engine and one of us will let you know what it is.

id keep the S13 Blacktop. S14 SR has a low port head and VVT or something that you dont need. Only advantage with an S14 SR is the T28 turbo which is cheap enough to buy and put on your S13 SR if you want to.

i got it figured out just had to find clear pictures of the actual notch on the s14..... I bought the car a month or so ago and its taken them sometime to do the swap. The seller didnt like the way the s13 was running and he couldnt guarantee me anything or warranty it so he got an s14 motor to put in my car that he COULD warranty. Ill drop some pics up next week but i was just having trouble identifying the differences in appearance between the two.
