Hello from Europe, people I found a strange issue, when I manage to fit a lowering springs to my s13 200sx (european version - chassis like US 240sx, but with a CA18DET engine).

I found this to my and to a friend of mine cars. They are pre-facelift. LHD drive.

The front shock are the standart ones.

But there is a difference in heigh between left and right shocks, and especially where the spring contacts the shock absorber at the bottom point. The left side is about 1cm lower than the right side.

The measurements was made from the two bolts that holds the shock to the "knuckle spindle (name was taken from the manual) to the place, where the spring contacts with the shock (shock cup).

I have spare shocks, but when I checked, they was absolutely same like these on my car.

Two cars wit the same problems, 4 spare front standart shock, with the same sizes.

In a result, the right side of the car sits about 1 cm higher than the left side.

Any ideas what is this, and why is ? Is it a common, or else?

This is what I'm talking about, in pictures:

Are the KYB AGXs for example, be the same like these standart ones, with that difference, or the aftermarket shocks doesn't have that?

Any help will be appreciated, guys.Thank you

Not sure what to tell you, I never noticed this on my stock shocks. Could just be some 1 in 500 OEM variation that went undetected from the manufacturer. This is interesting. I did Koni inserts on my car.

Whoa, something is definitely wrong there as they should both be around the same height. Maybe its time to ditch the OEM's and go for some GR2's or AGX's.
