This is Rogue #7 for me (company vehicle) and in the winter I put my display to the 4x4-i screen so I can see when traction goes to the rear. With my previous Rogue's from a stop there was always a bit of power going to the rear wheels, like maybe 10%-20%. With my new 2019 SV AWD I now get a 50/50 split from a stop which is great. Does anyone know if they changed the AWD functioning in the 2019 or is anyone else getting 50/50 in previous years models?

All of the Nissan literature to my knowledge from 2008 until now explains Intelligent/Intuitive (same systems different name depending on the year) Intuigent....? AWD as starting with a 50/50 power spilt from take off. Then backing power up to the front as cruising speed is reached and traction is good. So I find it odd your previous years didn't display that.

Personally I have a 2015 Select, so no advanced display. But from what I can feel at slick starts it seems to be 50/50 or very close to.

Thanks for the reply. I was fairly positive it was always 50/50 from a standstill regardless of the year but my displays have never reflected that.

My 2015 SL shows a 90/10 or 80/20 split for normal take off. Usually only see a vast difference when I am playing around in the snow. I would think that starting in 50/50 for a normal takeoff would be detrimental to MPG and drivetrain?

I have a 2018 SV AWD. For our vehicle, the percentage of power to the rear wheels seems to be tied to how hard we hit the accelerator. If feathered, it's seems to be perhaps 10 to 20% from a standing start. If I go a little harder, it's 50/50.

D-Rock, you are absolutely correct. I switched the display into the 4x4 mode this morning and checked it out. It does go 50/50 at a start, then back to 100/0. It will linger at 50/50 or thereabout a bit longer if I floor it, yes. But overall, it seems that it does go into the 50/50 mode every launch, even if momentarily. Interestingly enough, I didn't notice it doing this on a highway when kicking down to pass someone. I used to have a 2017 SL AWD and I can not remember it ever going into the 50/50 at launch, only off-road or when it's slippery. It would invariably launch in 90/10 split, sometimes 80/20. But it did not hesitate to kick in the rear wheels when driving, the 2019 likes to stay at a 100/0 once in motion. I have no idea what the reason for the change is. Thanks for the heads-up, though!

I played around this morning and tried different launches from a stop and it was 50/50 regardless of the amount of throttle input. This is the first Rogue where the display was a true 50/50 all of the time. I'm anxious for a bit of snow to see if I can feel the differences from my previous Rogues and this apparent increase in traction. For all I know it could have always been 50/50 at the wheels but the display was not showing the actual split.

@NMD -- I doubt when passing and kicking down a "gear" it would give the 50/50 split unless it was warranted due to lack of traction. I prefer the Rogue AWD always starting 50/50 from a stop over the other slip-and-grip systems that are sometimes slow to engage the other wheels.

I agree, the display appears more sensitive and easier to read. Wish I could say the same about the radio head unit :(

Did some driving on the streets today. Unlike highway, the vehicle seems to be much more willing to engage the rear wheels when kicking down at speeds below 50-60, I suspect 55. I hit some 80/20, even 70/30. Looks like it's a function of speed.
