I am wnodering what the differences are between the 1st gen and 2nd gen Q45s are. I am asking this because I have a 92 Q car with a transplanted engine and from the pictures that I've seen of 92 Qs they are missing a resivior and compressed gas cylinder on the passenger side of the engine right next to the whell well. The engine that I have in my car has this and the service guy at the dealership didn't know what it was for. Any help on this would be helpful.

I am also wondering what the difference in specs are between the two generations, if any.

On a last note, I am looking for a 4.11 rear end to put on my car and a JWT ecu/tcu. If someone could point me in the right direction for these parts, please help me.

Can you post the pictures you're talking about? It sounds like something to do with Active suspension or TCS...

Yeah he's talking about the TCS..... more 94s came with TCS than later ones as it was standard with the Q45ts and the "winter driving package".....

Get the JWT from stillen.

So does this mean that I probably have a newer engine and don't have to worry about the chain guides? How do I find out what year the engine came from?

NO, where did the enigne come from? Another (used) 92Q?

All that means is that the car that you got your engine from had TCS and yours doesnt..

But see, that's the thing. Mine does have TCS but I know that the engine is not the original engine.

I'm so confused.

So how do I find out what year the engine is? Do I look up the engine ID number or something? If so, where can I find it?

The engine ID number is at the back of the engine across form the firewall.

So after I find the Engine ID number, how do I go about matching it with my car or checking the history on it? I'm just trying to figure all of this out so I can find out what is excatly up with my engine.
