After my previous thread and some more research I've decided I want to replace my blown stock TC rods. A friend of mine (different guy than the previous post) will sell me his V1 TC rods (S13) because he got a S14. What are the differences between V1 and V2? The SPL website says:

"New version! Larger and stronger, and now featuring tough chromoly rod ends, Seals-It rod end seals (longer lasting than dust boots and replaceable without removing the rod end, which would require a realignment), and optional aluminum brake deflector guides that mount directly to the tension rods."

I won't be getting break deflectors so that doesn't matter to me.

How much larger/stronger are V2? I'm pretty sure I read that V2 size/strength are overkill so I don't think I'm too worried about that (its a DD, no a track car).

I guess the biggest question is about the "Seals-It rod end seals". What difference will the different rod end seals make (longevity/going out)?

Anyone? I know people have had V1 and then upgraded to V2.

Both are good products.

The rod ends are cheap to replace and will last for years even without the seals.

Picked up the SPL v1 tension rods. The only thing now is that I'm afraid my 6 month free alignment at Sears will be void when I install them. I think that if I install parts that change the aligment it voids the free 6 months. Is it possible that they won't notice or that they will think it was there before? Its been a few months since my last alignment. The other possibility is that one of the mechanics has a S13 coupe and he might let it slide, heh. Guess I should get to know him.
